Crunchyroll COVID-19 Hiring Status

The Role

Crunchyroll is looking for a Director, Business Operations to join our team and support strategic decisions and outcomes on our highest priority projects and initiatives. Reporting into the VP, Business Operations, you will serve as a trusted partner who will look for opportunities to optimize the current business operations.

The ideal candidate is self-starter who is comfortable working cross-functionally and is both hands-on operationally and while keeping in mind long term strategy!

A day in the life of our Director, Business Operations:

Drive cross-functional projects that will improve Crunchyroll’s profitability & ROI.

Define Best Practices & Guidelines: Help define best practices for partnering teams including Marketing, Business Development, and Content.

Analytics & Insights: Gather and analyze data, formulate and test hypotheses, synthesize findings, provide strategic insights, develop go-forward plans and help drive and translate recommendations into results.

General Operations : Take ownership of operational projects as needed, such as the fulfillment of customer gift bags or the implementation of new marketing or legal technologies.

Business Process Improvement: Find opportunities for business process improvement and roll out new processes to teams.

Support Planning and Business Rhythms: Support partnered teams in developing OKRs and readouts for QBRs.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • 12+ years work experience in cross functional operational roles; prior background in consulting, investment banking, analytics, business operations, or finance preferred
  • Understanding of and prior experience working in SVOD or AVOD helpful but not required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think strategically and tackle open-ended problems
  • Strong listening skills; ability to understand the “why” and get to what matters quickly
  • Ability to digest complex data and present findings in a clear manner that drives decision making and outcomes; experience with financial and strategic modeling
  • Experience in execution and willingness to get into the details and do what it takes to “get it done”
  • Strong stakeholder and project management skills to optimally influence and manage expectations with cross-functional teams
  • Desire to learn - You’ll often be answering questions that have never been answered before, which requires a high level of intellectual curiosity and an eagerness to dive into new problems, domains, tools, and techniques
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred
