 Sr. Director, Global Field and Partner Marketing

As the Sr. Director of Global Field and Partner Marketing, you will develop and execute innovative strategies to drive and accelerate pipeline and revenue across Sumo Logic’s global regions. You will oversee the global field and channel marketing teams and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to plan, adapt, forecast and execute marketing programs for direct and indirect channels. This role requires a dynamic, experienced leader with a strong analytical mindset, a passion for working in a matrixed organization, and a track record of driving measurable results in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with sales leadership and strategic partners to understand their goals and develop joint partner and field marketing initiatives, including account-based programs, to support pipeline and revenue generation and acceleration.
  • Understand market research, target audiences, competitor analysis, and market trends to inform marketing strategies.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive field marketing plans aligned with overall marketing and sales objectives, including corporate and regional events, brand programs, and various direct and indirect campaigns.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, vendors, distributors, service providers, technology alliances and resellers, to maximize marketing opportunities and drive business growth.
  • Develop and adapt corporate and regional campaigns to fit multiple channels and measure effectiveness.  
  • Align with a cross-functional team to further expand the core components of a partner marketing program, including communications, advisory boards, pilot programs, on-boarding pathways and MDF management.
  • Plan, forecast, and manage the global field and partner marketing budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and measurable ROI.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics to evaluate field events and campaign effectiveness and make data-driven optimization decisions.
  • Establish annual performance plans, mentor team members, and foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging trends, and innovative marketing techniques to improve field marketing strategies continuously.
  • Ability to identify efficiencies and automation opportunities, including new processes and technologies to streamline and reduce redundant work.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in leading field and partner marketing teams or related leadership roles in the technology/software industry.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support field marketing initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • Proficiency in 6Sense, Marketo, Splash, ReachDesk and SFDC 
  • Strong analytical skills, and proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Salesforce, Looker, and Tableau.
  • Strong project management skills using Asana or similar tools. Familiarity with Agile practices within Marketing.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience managing, motivating and mentoring field marketing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, influence stakeholders at all levels, and provide updates on marketing performance, opportunities, and challenges
  • Creative mindset with a passion for driving results through innovative marketing approaches.

Sumo Logic Privacy Policy

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $191,000 - $258,000 . Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren’t limited to) role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. In addition to base pay, certain roles are eligible to participate in our bonus or commission plans, as well as our benefits offerings, and equity awards.
