Chewy is seeking a Sr. Program Manager, Safety Technical Writer to support the Chewy Fulfillment and Corporate teams. This role will support the Chewy Safety Network by reviewing current and writing new technical safety policies ensuring compliance to federal, state, and local standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial health and safety management, technical writing skills, policy development, and program management. This role will foster a strong safety culture by developing and managing safety policies to the highest standards. This role will partner across internal stakeholders including site operations, safety, HR, legal, and leadership to review policy and standards content for effectiveness and regulatory compliance.

What you'll do:

  • Develop, write, and manage a robust library of standards and policies providing clear guidance around Chewtopian’s safety.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance to all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Create internal safety documentation, how to guides, FAQs, and other reference material related to health and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of internal stakeholders to draft standards and policies, then partner with legal and leadership for approval.
  • Partner with health and safety leaders to drive compliance with current programs and initiatives.
  • Review current policies and collect feedback to continuously improve safety standards and policies for both Chewy Fulfillment and Corporate teams.
  • Develop mechanisms for feedback intake, updates with new regulations, and maintain an organized repository of health and safety standards.

What you'll need:

  • 6+ years as a Technical Writer, safety program management, external communication, or regulatory compliance in a relevant field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Master’s Degree is EHS or related field preferred.
  • Experience building programs or standards for new initiatives.
  • Ability to review current standards for compliance against Chewy’s programs and policies.
  • Strong EHS knowledge and industrial work experience in a fast pace high impact environment.
  • Experience writing internal and external communications with attention to detail and ability to communicate concisely.
  • Proficiency and experience with program management and reporting tools such as Gensuite, Avetta, Microsoft Office, Tableau, Service Now or Smartsheet.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written, ability to work across multiple stakeholder teams, data analysis to inform strategy, and customer focus skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 20%.

Compensation & Benefits:

Our salary range for a Sr. Program Manager, Safety Technical Writer position is $112,000.00 - $179,500.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.,

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
