Analyst - Marketing & Events

Position Overview:
The Event Analyst of StepStone Group in Owings Mills will support the Marketing team by focusing on developing, organizing and executing firm events and additional ad hoc logistics.
Essential Functions:
This hands-on, detail-oriented position will:
- Support the Marketing team
- Assist with the development, organization, and execution of events
- Review detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and floor plans to ensure smooth execution the day of event
- Track event costs and assist with annual event budgeting
- Draft event-specific materials as needed
- Manage phone calls, vendors and other inquiries
- Collect appropriate documentation, filing, collateral related to events and ensure contracts are reviewed and deadlines met
- Establish and maintain department filing system to ensure efficiency and organization (upcoming events, events in progress, completed events, beverage logs, etc. as well as archive files as appropriate)
- Maintain event department resources (menus & descriptions, wine & beer lists, wine tasting notes, vendor resources/catalogs, etc.)
- Maintain event materials and collateral (flyers, signage, event emails.)
- Collect, track and assist with ordering swag inventory
- Negotiate with vendors and conduct extensive research to continually innovate events
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or other related fields.
- 2+ years of events experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements:
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Superior time management as it relates to managing concurrent deadlines and multi-faceted events
- A professional presence coupled with the communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external parties
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
- Potential ability to travel
- A highly-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work both independently and within a team context
Salary Range - $55,000 - $65,000
The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience. The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
The benefits package includes 15 days of paid vacation, 40 hours of sick leave, and 11 days of paid holidays. Eligible for health care (single and family). 401(k) plan with 3% safe harbor contribution is available. Eligible to receive annual discretionary incentive compensation, based on both individual and overall company performance, among other considerations.
