Airbnb Capability Center (formerly known as Airseva) was set up in 2017 in Gurgaon. We provide specialized operational services which allow Airbnb's business and responsibilities across the world. These include Finance Technology, Finance Shared Services, Analytics, Engineering, amongst other verticals. The difference you will make 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Analytics professional to join the Analytics & Systems Monitoring team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leveraging data analytics to identify, assess and mitigate operational and technology risks within Airbnb.  You will play a crucial role in enhancing our risk reduction capabilities to support strategic decision-making. 

A typical day 

• Analyze large volumes of data from various sources to identify patterns and potential risk areas to facilitate risk scoring and prioritization
• Continuously monitor data streams and transactions to detected anomalies to support continuous risk monitoring
• Test the effectiveness of controls by analyzing large volumes of transactions and identify control violations or expectations to support automated control testing
• Analyze large volumes of unstructured data to identify potential risks or fraud indicators to support natural language processing
• Manage the data analytics and business intelligence tools and systems
• Manage the collection, processing and analysis of complex datasets from various sources to generate meaningful insights
• Validate the integrity, accuracy and reliability of data through the implementation of data validation and quality control processes
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend data-driven solutions to help reduce risk
• Communicate findings and insights to senior management and stakeholders through clear and concise presentations and reports
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools and techniques in data analytics and implement best practices within the team
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the data analytics team
• Manage budgets, resources and timelines for data analytics projects

Your Expertise 

• Bachelor’s degree.  MS in Computer Science a plus.
• Professional experience in consulting with high growth, technology, and/or hospitality companies
• Strong organizational skills and process-oriented with the ability to define and execute projects with limited guidance and unclear scope
• Experience forming strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders within and outside of Finance
• Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively through both written and verbal formats up to the executive level (e.g. Chief Financial Officer, VP of Finance, etc.)
• Strong quantitative skills and ability to analyze complex data to distill insights and provide business recommendations
• Proficiency with the following skills and tools: SQL, Python, data modeling, data extraction, data analysis and visualization via Tableau and / or Superset
• Proven track record of delivering successful data analytics projects that drive business value
