About the job

This position is needed to partner with our Communications BU (CBU) R&D leaders to support a transformational people agenda we will be embarking on over the course of the next two+ years. In this role, you will report to the HRBP Senior Director for CBU R&D. Your primary clients will be CBU R&D VP and SVPs. You will actively engage with your business leader(s) to align their strategic objectives with people strategies, programs, processes and tactics across the applicable functions and geographies. You will coach and partner primarily with leaders and senior people managers, using multiple resources and teams to provide our employees an exceptional experience through the entire employee lifecycle. You will be an integral part of Twilio’s global HRBP team, partnering closely with local and functional HRBPs and with COEs across the People Team.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Create the talent strategy for CBU R&D organization(s), ensuring that organizational design and HR practices and programs are aligned to our new Company and product strategy.
  • Work closely with your business leader(s) to understand each team’s current state and desired future state, gaps and priorities needed to achieve business goals.
  • Provide guidance and input on org design, workforce planning, location strategy, talent development and organizational planning in alignment with Twilio’s transformational agenda
  • Advise on recruitment, performance improvement, promotions, talent mobility, Employee Relations, and termination discussions
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance

  • 10-15 years as an HRBP or related subject area in a transformative environment, with experience supporting technical client group teams
  • Demonstrated track record of leading transformational talent strategy initiatives, programs and processes through the employee lifecycle
  • Experience building, partnering and implementing meaningful change across a rapid paced, global organization
  • Working knowledge of multiple Human Resource subject areas including organizational design, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, talent development, compensation, diversity and inclusion, and employment laws
  • Hunger for learning and problem solving with an approach that opportunities to do so are greater in a complex, ambiguous, fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Enjoy deriving insights from data to support decision-making and clearly present/ communicate complex ideas
  • Strong business acumen

 

Location

This role will be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

 

Travel 

We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, you may be required to travel occasionally to participate in project or team in-person meetings.

*Please note this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado, California, New York, Washington and Washington D.C. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.

 

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado or Washington D.C. : $164,480.00-$205,600.00.
  • Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $174,160.00-$217,700.00.
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $XXX,XXX (Developing Minimum for Tier 1) - $193,520.00-$241,900.00.
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
