We’re looking for a HR Generalist & Office Manager (Tokyo) to join us in supporting our Japan team and office operations. This role reports to the APJ HR site lead based in Singapore.

So, what will you be doing all day?

Your daily responsibilities may include:

  • Serve as the employees’ main point of contact for HR queries.
  • Support the employees lifecycle processes (onboarding, letters, exits etc)
  • Support HR programs and processes (feedback talk, merit process, performance reviews, employee surveys, local recruitment operations etc).
  • Prepare and maintain formal policy documents, employee-related documents, handbooks and be familiar with company local policies and benefits.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external vendors to develop, support and execute employee engagement programs and events (eg. happy hours, celebrations), team-building activities, and global/regional events to foster a positive work environment. 
  • Managing and tracking employee experience and office budget.
  • Ensuring the Japan office environment is maintained and organized to a high standard (pantry restock, liaison with landlord, arranging team lunches etc.)
  • Perform‌ ‌other‌ ‌related‌ ‌duties‌ ‌as‌ ‌assigned from time to time. 

This is the perfect job for someone who is:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience as a HR associate / generalist / business partner and some experience in office management.
  • Has good knowledge of local Japan labor law.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and demanding environment. 
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Service-oriented, positive, proactive, and solutions-focused attitude.
  • Highly organized with attention to details and an outstanding work ethic.
  • Always willing to 'roll up the sleeves' and do what it takes to get the job done.
  • Fluent in English and Japanese: both written and verbal.

*This role is required to be in office 5 days a week.
