As Senior Category Manager for the International HelloFresh Markets, you will report to the Team Lead - International Strategic Packaging. You will develop and lead the packaging category strategy for insulation materials and Ready-to-Eat products, work with suppliers and DCs on new packaging innovations and developments, drive process and product improvement initiatives across all International HelloFresh markets, and act as a point of escalation for operational matters.

• Develop, trial and validate new packaging products in collaboration with our Packaging Center of Excellence, FSQA and Production teams to improve the HelloFresh offering further
• Identify business needs and build / adapt a category strategy to meet those needs. Develop new packaging solutions and optimize existing ones in line with the category strategy
• Grow our packaging supply base further and diversify the pool of validated packaging materials and suppliers  
• Regularly analyze and challenge the status quo and initiate / lead product and process  improvement projects.
• Create ongoing data analysis & category reviews to drive performance strategically within your category and achieve ambitious targets.
• Work closely with suppliers to build strong long-term relationships, including contract executions.
• Develop and align the Category Strategy with budget cycles and report on those frequently
• Support in providing procurement advice, price updates, reporting, invoice approval, replenishment, compliance & tenders
• Solve problems on-the-go in a fast-paced environment

• 3+ years of experience in packaging engineering & development / project management / strategic procurement (ideally in food, but not a must)
• Preferably, existing knowledge of (paper-based) packaging and sustainability practices
• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering / Business / Sustainability / Economics / Procurement (or equivalent)
• Preferably, strong work experience within an operational environment and the FMCG/Consumer goods sector
• Knowledge of packaging markets, suppliers and packaging-specific opportunities and constraints is preferred
• A sound understanding of packaging sustainability and the European legal landscape for packaging (PPWD, regional recyclability regulations, etc.)
• Experience with supplier relationship management and driving continuous improvements within a category
• Quantitative and analytical experience, including solid comfort with Excel and Tableau
• Proactive, flexible, ambitious, and assertive: you take ownership of your work
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
