We are looking for a proactive, highly motivated, and technically savvy Manager, Accounting to join our growing accounting organization!  Reporting directly to the Director, Accounting, the Manager, Accounting will own the critical accounting processes for OPEX: vendor accruals, prepaids, treasury accounting, and leading a team of accountants. The Manager, Accounting will deliver accurate financial results in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, helping build a world class organization.

You will join a dynamic and highly collaborative accounting organization and play a critical role in overseeing the OPEX accounting functions, strategizing and implementing process improvements, and scaling the accounting close process. You will provide leadership to and develop direct reports and will regularly work cross functionally with other Fastly finance and business teams, such as FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Marketing, and Legal.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and develop our OPEX Corporate Accounting team, overseeing the team of 2-3 responsible for the OPEX vendor accrual, prepaid and treasury accounting processes, both in and outside of close
  • Deliver timely and accurate reporting, both through team management and working cross functionally with other Fastly teams
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and SOX controls through detailed review of journal entries, account reconciliations, key controls and monthly/quarterly flux analysis
  • Oversee execution of certain cross functional accounting team projects and systems, such as PBC deadline management for quarterly reviews and annual audits and our accrual automation system
  • Identify potential SOX impacts from proposed process and systems changes in assigned areas, partnering with Internal Audit to update documentation including process flowcharts and risk and control matrix 
  • Assist SEC Reporting team with 10Q/K footnote reviews and annual accounting policy and convention updates for assigned areas
  • Identify, propose and drive process and efficiency improvements to month-end close process and other accounting processes
  • Other ad hoc projects as needed

What We're Looking For: 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 7+ years progressive accounting experience, including experience in a manager-level leadership role at a publicly traded company
  • Ability to think strategically, build cross functional relationships, and take initiative to drive results
  • Passionate about leading and developing teams
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these: 

  • Audit experience and CPA a plus
  • Big 4 experience a plus
  • Experience with NetSuite, FloQast, Coupa, Gappify and G-Suite a plus

Work Hours: 

  • This position will require you to be available during core business hours.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. 

Salary: 

The estimated salary range for this position is $123,330 to $154,170.

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
