Role Overview
Vimeo is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Partner Account Manager to join our expanding team in Japan. This pivotal role will be responsible for building, nurturing, and growing strong, mutually beneficial relationships with our key partners within the Japanese ecosystem with a focus on digital and creative agencies, large System Integrators (SIs), and strategic technology partners. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the Japanese business culture, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a proven track record of driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships. Responsibilities
Partner Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for assigned partners in Japan with a focus on digital and creative agencies, large SIs, and technology partners..
- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders within partner organizations.
- Understand partners' business objectives, priorities, and challenges to identify opportunities for them to leverage Vimeo to replace or augment existing competitive video solutions.
- Regularly communicate with partners, providing updates on products, programs, and market trends.
- Address partner inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner, ensuring high levels of partner satisfaction.
Partner Program Execution
- Drive partner engagement and adoption of our partner program initiatives with a focus on maximizing their ability to deliver Vimeo's value proposition to their clients..
- Onboard new partners, providing training and resources to ensure their success.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Product, Support) to develop and execute joint business plans with partners, specifically focusing on strategies to displace competitors.
- Track partner performance against agreed-upon goals and KPIs.
- Identify and implement strategies to optimize partner performance and drive revenue growth.
Business Development & Revenue Generation
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand our partner network in Japan, aligning with our market strategy and focusing on recruiting digital and creative agencies, large SIs, and technology partners with strong enterprise client relationships..
- Work closely with partners to generate new leads and opportunities for [your product/service].
- Sell jointly with partners' sales teams to maximize reach and close deals, providing expert guidance on product capabilities, competitive differentiation, and solution design.
- Support partners in their sales efforts by providing product knowledge, sales enablement materials, and joint sales support.
- Negotiate and manage partner agreements, ensuring mutual understanding and alignment.
- Monitor and analyze partner sales performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop a deep understanding of the Japanese market landscape, including key industry trends, competitive dynamics, and cultural nuances with a focus on understanding the specific needs of enterprise clients and their preferences regarding video solutions..
- Provide feedback to internal teams on market needs and opportunities to inform product development and localization efforts.
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop localized marketing materials and campaigns to support partner activities.
Reporting & Analysis
- Maintain accurate records of partner interactions, activities, and performance in CRM systems.
- Prepare regular reports on partner performance, pipeline, and revenue forecasts.
- Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in the partner program.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience (typically 3-5+ years) in partner management, channel sales, or business development within the technology industry.
- Native-level fluency in Japanese (speaking, reading, and writing) is mandatory.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding targets through partner relationships.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and other sales and marketing tools.
- Good to have SAAS or Video industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with digital and creative agencies, large System Integrators (SIs), and technology partners in the enterprise space.
- Established network of contacts within the Japanese technology ecosystem, particularly within the digital marketing, media, and enterprise technology sectors.
- Experience in successfully displacing competitors within a partner-driven sales strategy.
