Our Global Record-to-Report (R2R) team is the foundation of SumUp’s financial integrity.We ensure that every transaction across more than 30 legal entities is properly reflected, compliant, and auditable.

Based in Sofia, São Paulo, and Santiago, our R2R professionals thrive on collaboration, precision, and process excellence. We’re not a traditional shared service centre — we’re a strategic partner to the business, driving accuracy, automation, and insight.

  About the Role

As the Global R2R Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in SumUp’s finance organisation.You’ll bridge operational accounting teams and senior finance leadership — ensuring that our decision-making is grounded in reliable, real-time financial data.This is both a leadership and transformation role: you’ll oversee core closing processes while driving the evolution of our global finance operations.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and develop a global team of 10+ R2R accountants across three regions.

• Ensure accurate, compliant, and timely month-end and year-end closings across 30+ legal entities.

• Coordinate global audits and statutory reporting, partnering with internal and external stakeholders.

• Collaborate with Controlling, Tax, Treasury, ERP, Procurement, and People Ops on new business initiatives.

• Drive automation projects, such as payroll posting automation and intercompany reconciliation improvements.

• Promote continuous improvement and process standardisation across all regions.

• Build a high-performing, motivated team through coaching, clear expectations, and accountability.

 

You’ll Be Great for This Role If You Have:

• 8+ years of finance experience, with increasing responsibility and scope.

• Proven experience leading international accounting or R2R teams.

• A professional qualification (ACCA, CMA, or equivalent).

• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and expertise in financial reporting and audit preparation.

• Experience in complex, multi-entity environments with automation and process improvement focus.

• A people-first leadership style that empowers and develops your team.

• Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to influence across cultures.
