Position Overview

Senior Associate / VP Investment Operations will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of cash monitoring and settlement of loans for StepStone Private Debt funds. Senior Associate / VP Investment Operations will be in contact with professionals across the company and will work closely with team members in other StepStone offices.   

Essential Job Functions:

• Monitor cash levels of a portfolio of StepStone Private Debt funds and oversee day-to-day operations of private debt platform
• Propose and review Capital Calls to investors
• Trigger & review Money Market subscriptions / redemptions and credit line drawdowns / repayments
• Review & approve trade related FX transaction
• Review and sign off on loan allocations to relevant Classes in accordance with the Allocation Policy
• Review and sign other investment instructions including secondary market transaction, purchases / sells of fund of fund positions, transfers of single private debt positions, transfers of private debt portfolios
• Assist with onboarding of new LPs and GPs onto Private Debt Platform
• Review and monitor funds capacity and deployment and work closely with product team to optimize it
• Assist with development of junior staff
• Work closely with number of external loan managers, Administrators, Custodians & Board of Directors 
• Perform other duties as requested or as responsibilities dictate
• Continuously improve the overall process

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

For the position at hand, we seek applicants with 7-10 years’  work experience and a bachelor degree from a top-tier college or university. The following factors will definitely be a benefit for the potential candidates:

• Middle office / Investment operations experience in an asset manager required  
• Prior exposure to cash management, credit lines and FX instructions preferred
• Takes initiative and ownership of responsibilities assigned
• Demonstrates commitment, accuracy and attention to detail, even in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Ability to prioritize activities while working on multiple projects and achieve target deadlines
• Highly motivated with critical thinking
• Knowledge of the private debt- / private equity- or hedge-fund sectors a plus
• Good analytical skills with a flair for processes as well as good IT skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
