CastleGate Forwarding (CGF) is a rapidly growing freight forwarding start-up within Wayfair, moving containers across the globe to Wayfair’s shelves and elsewhere. Our proprietary end-to-end logistics network enables us to drive speed, quality and lower costs. A key component of our logistics and supply chain footprint are our CastleGate Forwarding services. We are scaling a global digital freight forwarding business and developing a differentiated experience for importers, who want to be part of a supply chain for the e-commerce age. 

Job Description:

  • Manage day-to-day operations from order management to ocean operations and documentation. Systematically monitor exceptions and provide timely resolution.
  • Proactively monitor and drive the operational performance, process adherence and KPI fulfillment of our overseas agent. 
  • Identify root causes of consistent operational hiccups and fill the process gap structurally.
  • Provide ad-hoc support in data and reporting tasks in the scope of order management, ocean operations and documentation.
  • Proactively align with internal and external stakeholders on overall operational performance and adherence.
  • Work cross-functionally with stakeholders (including sales&services teams and external vendors) on designing and implementing various operational programs.

Key Qualities/Skills required:

  • Structural and clear in communications - able to illustrate the issues/opportunities/challenges in the complex logistics operations in a clear way
  • Presentable - able to work with external partners on behalf of CGF in building partnerships and handling exceptions
  • Data-driven decision making - able to make sound decisions with the support of data, and able to justify the decision with data in the operations full of ambiguity
  • Experience in process management - able to monitor process adherence, identify process loopholes and drive process optimization.
