Web Programs Manager, SEO

We are seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Web Programs Manager, SEO to help grow and optimize the performance of Fastly.com across global search engines. Reporting to the Director of Web Marketing, you’ll be responsible for executing and evolving our digital experiences to drive user engagement, improve conversion funnels, and support our global business objectives.

This role requires a holistic view of the web, managing a portfolio of critical programs including Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), personalization, and user experience (UX) with a focus on Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in web strategy and B2B SEO with hands-on experience in Generative Search Optimization (GSO), technical site health, and keyword-driven content strategy. You’re a data-driven leader who excels at translating complex web analytics into a clear, actionable roadmap. You are an excellent communicator who can partner with cross-functional teams—from engineering to content—to execute high-impact web initiatives.

What You'll Do:

Strategy & Execution

  • Launch A/B and multivariate testing initiatives for key pages in alignment with web and growth goals, focusing on both traditional organic search and AI-powered experiences (e.g., Google’s Search Generative Experience, Bing Copilot, ChatGPT).
  • Conduct keyword research and query intent analysis across traditional and generative search platforms to inform content creation and optimize content for AI summaries, featured snippets, SGE previews, and other generative results.
  • Monitor competitive landscape and identify opportunities to improve visibility across emerging search formats.
  • Track and report on performance and visibility within GSO-related search experiences and adapt strategy accordingly.

Technical SEO & Site Health

  • Audit and monitor Fastly.com’s technical SEO performance, including crawlability, indexability, page speed, structured data, and core web vitals.
  • Work with engineering and web teams to address technical issues, implement schema markup, and maintain scalable SEO foundations across global sites.
  • Ensure effective sitemap, robots.txt, canonicalization, and hreflang implementations.

Content Optimization & Collaboration

  • Guide content strategy and optimization in partnership with content, brand, and product marketing teams.
  • Identify high-opportunity pages for updates, rewrites, or UX enhancements to improve rankings and engagement, leveraging keyword research, competitive analysis, and search intent insights.
  • Provide SEO support for landing pages, web campaigns, and site updates, ensuring best practices are embedded in every initiative.

Reporting & Insights

  • Own SEO reporting dashboards, tracking organic KPIs such as traffic, CTR, rankings, visibility, and pipeline contribution.
  • Present regular performance updates and actionable insights to stakeholders across marketing, web, and content.
  • Stay current on SEO trends, algorithm updates, and AI search developments—sharing insights and recommendations internally.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of web strategy or SEO experience, ideally in a B2B SaaS or enterprise tech environment.
  • Proven expertise in both technical and content SEO, including structured data, site audits, and content optimization.
  • Experience optimizing for Generative Search platforms like Google SGE, Bing Copilot, or AI summary engines (a strong plus).
  • Familiarity with search and analytics tools: Google Search Console, Looker, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, GA4, and SEO Chrome extensions.
  • Strong understanding of search intent, UX, and content design principles.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to extract meaningful insights from complex data sets.
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills—able to work effectively across web, content, product, and engineering teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
