The Private Wealth Team 

Founded in 2019, StepStone Private Wealth is designed to expand access to the private markets for high-net-worth investors. StepStone Private Wealth is focused on creating innovative solutions for investors by emphasizing convenience, efficiency and transparency. StepStone Private Wealth is responsible for the overall management of over $2.5 billion in worldwide across six funds and has key responsibilities including structuring, governance, distribution, reporting and oversight. 

Summer Interns based in Charlotte, NC will be responsible for supporting the activities of StepStone Private Wealth’s Corporate Finance and Accounting team, getting exposure to all aspects of financial services. Education is also a significant component of the program, as Summer Interns will gain insight into the broader private market ecosystem through research projects, hands-on learning and day-to-day responsibilities of a full-time associate. 

Responsibilities 

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements & prepare analysis for management 
  • Update company financial planning & analysis financial model(s) for monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting 
  • Develop and maintain process documentation for financial procedures 
  • Work with cross-functional teams closely to maintain A/P and A/R functions 
  • Assist with SEC regulatory filings and management reports  
  • Participate in monthly budget reviews and variance analysis 
  • Create internal and external-facing presentations to convey financial insights effectively 
  • Maintain proprietary competitive market research in the private equity and private wealth landscape 
  • Perform other ad hoc projects that reflect the broader needs of the company 
  • Participate in corporate mentorship programs and on-site company events 

Desired Skills and Experience 

Most importantly, ideal candidates should display strong attention to detail, a highly professional manner and a dedication to learning about complex topics. 

Qualifications 

  • You are a Junior/Rising Senior (May 2025 grad) committed to BA/BS in Finance, Economics or Accounting, or equivalent 
  • High proficiency in MS Word, Power Point and Excel 
  • Demonstrated track record of academic success 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong, demonstrable analytical capabilities 
  • Team player and strong work ethic 
  • Work with other interns to deliver a presentation at the end of the internship to the local StepStone team
