As the Associate Director, Real Estate you will have the opportunity to build a best-in-class real estate function, and define the real estate strategy for a rapidly changing organization.  Reporting to the SVP, Business Operations, in this role:

 

You will...

  • Directly manage our national footprint of multiple (8+) fulfillment centers, three headquarters, a customer care center and 20+ last mile facilities across the country
  • Support operational and strategic real estate initiatives in close partnership with the business, including site selection and space planning. Prioritize across multiple projects, drawing on sound business judgment and an understanding of context and business goals
  • Manage relationships with landlords and outsourced real estate service providers to ensure compliance with agreements, adherence to policies and standards, optimal functioning of all building systems and maximization of cost savings opportunities
  • Communicates with Landlord/Seller/Developer on a consistent basis to ensure that contract deliverables and site delivery are obtained in accordance with HelloFresh’s plans
  • Work in tandem with construction managers to ensure seamless transitions into permitting, construction, and turnover/grand opening on individual projects
  • Monitor costs and expenses, prepare and propose budgets for lease commitments and office operations

 

You are…

  • An expert at project management, including planning, budgeting, cost estimating and management, design, contracts, construction oversight, facility commissioning, and reporting.
  • A strong negotiator, with experience managing lease negotiations. 
  • Experienced in the commercial/industrial real estate market (experience with cold storage a strong plus). 
  • Able to travel as needed (20-40% travel)

At a minimum you have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Real Estate
  • At least 7+ years of experience in real estate planning, consulting or related 
  • Solid understanding of the relevant real estate markets and industry standards
  • Ability to interpret blueprints – mechanical, electrical, plumbing and architectural
  • Excellent negotiation skills and thorough understanding of leasing and construction contracts
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
