We’re looking for an experienced Brand Writer (Performance) who’s passionate about storytelling and creating work that will inspire millions of consumers globally to use Pinterest. As a copywriter on the Performance team, you’ll collaborate with designers, producers and marketers to create inspiring work across digital and social channels that grows our user base. You’ll shine by developing short, playful, engaging copy for our English-speaking markets (US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, etc.) that inspires new audiences to join our platform. If you’re obsessed with writing short, rhythmic copy with a fun voice/tone, have a heart for storytelling and a hunger to write for an iconic brand, this is the role for you.

What you’ll do:

  • Write and oversee all English-language copy for Performance Marketing, working closely with our international writers to create campaigns that will run on dozens of different channels around the world.
  • Pitch campaign ideas, develop and write video copy and bring animations to life with fun, clever words that inspire millions of consumers to join Pinterest.
  • Contribute to campaign brainstorms after researching trends, cultural moments and world events, offering your unique perspective as you respond to campaign and project briefs.
  • Nerd out on the analytics and data behind Performance Marketing, using what you learn to iterate on copy and write for the Pinterest audience in a way that most resonates with them.
  • Become an expert on our audiences, keeping in mind cultural differences, relevant trends and inclusive language that brings the Pinterest voice to life.
  • Collaborate with our passionate team of designers, producers, researchers, engineers and product marketers to share Pinterest’s products and features with the world.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years steeped in the wordly arts (agency and/or brand copywriting, marketing, journalism). Experience writing specifically for performance advertising on platforms like Facebook, IG and Google Search ads is preferred.
  • You’re an expert at short-form copy that can get people energized in a few, pithy words. You create great copy from a single image, short video or simple idea. You love alliterations, worldplay, even puns. 
  • You’re able to quickly pick up a brand’s voice and understand the way the tone and voice flex across the brand. You never shy away from asking questions, learning new things or sharing your ideas. 
  • You’ve worked in high-paced, iterative creative environments before. You have experience writing 100+ lines in a short sprint, incorporating feedback and creating fresh batches of copy on a tight turnaround. 
  • You’re an owner. You’re accountable for your own work and handle setbacks and challenges head on. You continually seek feedback to improve and gladly share the reasoning behind your work.
  • You’re passionate about writing inclusive copy. You represent diverse perspectives and voices in your writing and reach outside of your comfort zone to include interests beyond your own.

Final salary is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant prior experience, or particular skills and expertise.
