Cloudflare’s Engineering Team builds and runs the software that handles about 10% of HTTP requests on the Internet today. We also build and run the internal tools that builds and runs our software. The Engineering Team is split into two groups: one handles product development and the other handles operations. Product development covers both new features and functionality and scaling our existing software to meet the challenges of a massively growing customer base. The operations team handles one of the world’s largest networks with data centers in 102 cities worldwide.

Cloudflare is looking for a full stack engineer on our control plan product platform to help us build and maintain the codebase that powers our Dashboard UI and internal service APIs. The ideal candidates will have experience working with large-scale applications and a deep knowledge of system designs. You must care deeply not only about the quality of your and the team's code, but also the customer experience and developer experience. We’re looking for highly motivated individuals that are excited to join a team and work with product owners and other software engineers to build scalable frameworks and tooling to create awesome developer experiences and improve developer productivity.

We are also strong believers in dog-fooding our own products. From cache configuration to Cloudflare Access to Cloudflare Workers, these are all tools in our frontend engineer's tool belt.

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience

• Experience designing, coding, and implementing applications from the datastore to the public interface
• Awareness of the constraints around code performance, data storage and retrieval, caching, distributed systems, and customer needs
• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of development experience
• Used statically typed languages (we use Golang)
• Willing to use (and learn, if needed) Go and Python on a regular basis
• Experienced with designing, consuming, or implementing RESTful services
• Experienced with working with distributed systems, SOA, or microservices
• Working knowledge of traditional databases (PostgreSQL or other relational database)
• Passionate about writing reusable code that empowers other developers to work faster and smarter
• Can deliver well-tested code that enterprises can rely on
• Working source control knowledge including branching, merging, and rebasing (we use git)
• Strong work ethic and willingness to continuously improve

Bonus Points

• Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc)
• Experience working with a GLNP (Go, Linux, Nginx, PostgreSQL) stack
• Experience with PL/PGSQL stored procedures
• Experience with key-value data stores (Redis, HBase, HDFS, or other)
