About the job

This position is needed to establish and manage a preventive and proactive travel risk and event security program that minimizes the likelihood of an incident and mitigates the impact of any unavoidable events to lower residual risk. The role will maintain situational awareness of exposure using various intelligence gathering tools to keep the Corporate Security Operations & Intelligence team updated on situations that could affect traveling employees and event attendees. The role will also support the Corporate Security team in its mission to protect Twilio’s most important asset, its people, and enable the growth of business lines. This position will be based remotely within the US and will report to the Director, Corporate Security Operations & Intelligence.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead travel security logistics for large scale events
  • Identify, analyze, and explain the present or future needs for proposed travel security initiatives to senior management
  • Build, execute and continuously improve security policies, planning protocols and operating procedures for off-site events, coordinating closely with Executive Protection team, 3rd party vendors and external event management
  • Oversee execution of event security plans, including coverage requirements, scheduling and management of 3rd party security personnel
  • Lead large cross functional initiatives, and collaborating with management from Legal, HR, Benefits, Mobility and Travel teams
  • Understand and educate security leadership on travel security technology and its capabilities
  • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) in business, security, or a related field and/or 6 yrs+ of experience with increasing scope, responsibility, and complexity at a multinational company (combined public/private sector experience considered)
  • Proven track record of successfully managing event security through third party vendors and teams
  • Fluency with comprehensive safety and security models, including risk assessment methodologies, executive protection protocols and active and passive security measures
  • Demonstrated decision-making, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to effectively interact with stakeholders at various levels including c-suite

Desired:

  • Prior large event/travel security management work experience within the tech industry
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certified Trainer preferred, or ability to obtain instructor qualification.
Location 

This role will be remote and based in the USA. 

Approximately 35% travel is anticipated.

*Please note this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado, California, New York, and Washington. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado: $102,000 - $127,000
  • Based in New York, Washington State or California (outside the San Francisco Bay Area): $108,000 - $135,000
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
