Your mission:

Join our product-centered business unit where data is at the core of product development. As a Data Manager at Glovo, you will be instrumental in harnessing data to empower key business and product leads, analysts and data scientists. Your day-to-day will involve engaging with Product, Engineering and Data teams to ensure the process of producing data and deriving insights from it is reliable, scalable and impactful. You will lead by example, demonstrating technical excellence and best practices, while fostering an inclusive environment that encourages growth and success through continuous coaching and mentoring.

Be a part of a team where you will:

- Recruit, guide, manage, and grow a high-performing multi-craft team of Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts and Product Data Scientists of different seniority levels.

- Create synergies across Business, Product, and Engineering to prioritize the most impactful Data Products, enabling Glovo’s mission.

- Manage the entire lifecycle of your team's projects, from OKRs definition to efficient execution and value delivery.

- Contribute to Glovo’s Data Mesh strategy and collaborate across departments to improve our overall Data capabilities.

- Lead architectural and data modeling discussions (RFCs, Design Documents, …), contribute to technical decisions, and drive impactful contributions to our code base and ways of working.

- Translate product questions and hypotheses into analysis and actionable insights through dashboards, and analytics techniques.

- Improve data discovery and literacy by developing and maintaining scalable and self-service visualization tools and dashboards, promoting their use across the company.

What you will bring to the ride:  

- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or a similar role, with at least 2+ years of experience managing a team (5+ people) and multiple projects.

- Experience designing and building scalable and maintainable data processing systems (both batch and near/real-time) and data models that enable data-driven business decisions and product development.

- Strong Product Sense, as you will be working with the most Product-oriented organization within Glovo, and Project Management skills, with the ability to act as a Data Product Manager if required.

- Proficiency in SQL and Python, knowledge of cloud data warehouses (Redshift) and distributed data processing frameworks (Spark, Presto).

- A good understanding of Software Development best practices and Agile methodologies.

- Knowledge of Data Mesh principles with hands-on implementation experience.

- Expertise in Data Analytics and Visualization tools (Looker, Amplitude).

- Knowledgeable and experienced in designing and analyzing experiments in digital products (A/B test, multivariate, etc).

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with leaders in Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams to unlock new opportunities.

- Proficiency in English.

Desirable skills: 

- Familiarity with data processing tools (dbt, Delta Lake), streaming, Data Lake cloud architectures, and containerization tools (Docker).

- Experience with CI/CD tools and AWS services such as EMR, Glue, MWAA, and infrastructure as code.

- Familiarity with statistical programming languages (Python/R) and experience with popular libraries and tools such as Pandas, SciPy, Seaborn, Jupyter/iPython notebooks, R Markdown.
