YOUR RIDE

As a Data Support Analyst, you'll help users across the whole of our Glovo data community track down data issues and help get them fixed.  This is a role in Glovo for a candidate with initiative and business acumen, as well as strong SQL and analysis skills.   You'll triage the issues that come in to identify their priority. You will also do some creative data detective work to find out what is really going on - which will mean you'll need to have your finger on the pulse of our rapidly changing business. Once you've worked out the root cause, you'll pass it to the right people to get it resolved, which means you'll develop a network of contacts from Data Engineering teams to key analysts around the company.  For high priority issues you may need to crack the whip to get things moving!     And, of course, you'll keep our users informed every step of the way.

 

THE JOURNEY

On a typical day you will:

  • Contact users to clarify issues on the tickets they raised

  • Chase teams to resolve high priority tickets in their queue

  • Compare data queried across different tools

  • Querying data products in our S3 data lake

  • Identify potential issues in data products and data source

  • Looker: Troubleshoot data in explorers and dashboards.

  • Stay on top whether for data definitions, data catalog, recent changes to business processes or software infrastructure

  • Manage small scoped projects

  • Continuous improvement: 

    • Spot pattern and repetitive issues i.e :Root cause analysis & diagnosis and take actions on it either within the area of data support process or with other recurrent issues which would require checking with DE, DA or DS team

    • How to improve support to Data comminuty 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE

  • Excellent SQL skills  (Starburst or Trino experience is desirable)

  • Knowledge of visualisation tools i.e: Looker experience is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of DataMesh is a bonus

  • 2-4 years of experience data querying

  • Project management experience

  • Troubleshooting skills

  • Experience with Atlassian suite is highly desirable (Jira & Confluence)

  • Python skills are desirable

  • A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Spanish is desirable.

  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders

  • Ability to multitask and prioritise work

  • Excellent organization skills (detail-oriented, routinely meets deadlines)

  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic

  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast changing environment
