The role

As a Technical Delivery Lead, you will play a critical role in supporting the Director and the Technical Operations & Analytics leadership team working across a varied number of priority initiatives. These priorities span compute management, portfolio management, technological infrastructure and processes design. This position requires technical aptitude, project management expertise, and the ability to seamlessly collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.

Key responsibilities
  • Strategic Consultancy: Support the Director with assessment of opportunities and challenges within the team's scope, providing tailored plans and strategies for rolling  out impactful solutions. Producing regular targeted communications to leadership, research and engineering teams
  • Compute management: Providing workflows and scaling best practices to researchers and engineers in areas such as resource availability, efficiency, scaling & performance.  
  • Process Design and change management: Create and enhance scalable tooling, processes, and systems to streamline operations and cultivate a culture of efficiency. Producing user guides, process documentation, and other forms of resources to support adoption. 
  • Portfolio oversight: Design and deploy portfolio management techniques to enable effective resource allocation, communication, and priority alignment.
  • Data Analytics: Collaborate with the data analytics team to develop and implement analytics solutions that enhance decision-making.
  • Project management: overseeing complex projects undertaken by the team, ensuring dependencies are understood and risks are proactively managed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong partnerships with stakeholders across all levels, understanding their needs and translating them into actionable solutions.
About you

In order to set you up for success as a Delivery Lead at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:

  • Technical Proficiency: Excellent understanding of technical concepts and ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Process Mapping and Improvement: Experience in analyzing, designing, and optimizing workflows.
  • Initiative and Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify challenges and proactively develop sustainable solutions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • SQL Proficiency: Strong SQL skills for data analysis and reporting.

In addition, the following would be an advantage: 

  • Understanding of AI/Machine Learning concepts and applications.
  • Experience in project management or product development
  • Familiarity with Google processes and/or teams
