Our Business Technology group is looking for a Director, Enterprise Data who will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our organization effectively leverages data as a strategic asset. You will be responsible for data strategy and governance; data architecture and management; data analytics and insights; vendor and technology management; and data security and compliance across the enterprise. This is a leadership role where you will have management responsibilities and direct reports. We expect a qualified candidate to possess a deep understanding of data management practices, a strong grasp of emerging technologies, and the ability to collaborate with various teams to drive data-driven decision-making.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives, establishing and enforcing data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Monitor data quality, accuracy, and security to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture, including data models, data dictionaries.
  • Oversee data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions, as well as manage data storage, access, and retrieval methods to optimize data availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with business units to identify data-driven opportunities for process improvement and innovation, developing and maintaining reporting and visualization tools to support their decision-making with clean, structured data.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and track the success and impact of data initiatives.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and select data-related vendors, tools, and technologies to meet business needs, manage relationships with data providers, and negotiate contracts for data services.
  • Ensure data privacy and security through the implementation of data access controls and encryption, staying current with data-related regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, including data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists, while fostering a culture of growth and data-driven decision-making.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, data management, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • 12+ years in a leadership role with proven experience in data management, data governance, and data architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of data management technologies, including databases, data lakes, and ETL tools.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with compliance and regulatory requirements related to data, such as GDPR or HIPAA.
  • Leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
