PHMG is actively seeking an accomplished professional for our newly created position of Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. This role holds significant influence within the organization, tasked with shaping and executing our comprehensive financial strategy. Reporting directly to our Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the successful candidate will lead strategic financial planning, meticulous forecasting, and insightful analysis initiatives. This pivotal role is integral to propelling our organizational growth and ensuring sustained financial success in an ever-evolving business landscape.

Location:  Old Trafford, Manchester Salary:      Circa £100,000 per annum ( £140k OTE) Hours:       8.45am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday 

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Budgeting: Orchestrating the annual budgeting process, collaborating closely with departmental heads to set and monitor financial targets.
  • Financial Forecasting: Crafting accurate short-term and long-term financial forecasts using historical data, market trends, and business insights.
  • Performance Analysis: Conducting thorough financial analysis, identifying key drivers, and presenting optimization strategies to stakeholders.
  • Management Reporting: Producing and delivering timely, insightful financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Collaborating cross-functionally to assess the financial feasibility of strategic initiatives, investments, and potential acquisitions.
  • Financial Modelling: Developing and maintaining intricate financial models to facilitate scenario analysis, business planning, and investment decisions.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously enhancing financial planning and analysis processes, systems, and tools for increased efficiency and accuracy.

Key Objectives for Success:

  • Team Development: Managing and coaching the existing FP&A team of 8 to deliver exceptional service to key stakeholders in our business and to develop and progress in their own careers.
  • Financial Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior management to define financial objectives, identify key performance indicators (KPIs), and create a roadmap for sustained growth.
  • Enhanced Financial Forecasting and Budgeting: Establish a robust forecasting model, leveraging historical data and market insights, while closely aligning department-level budgets with the overall financial strategy.
  • Financial Performance Analysis and Reporting: Provide timely and relevant financial insights to support strategic decision-making through regular financial reviews and clear, concise management reporting.
  • Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement to ensure the financial planning and analysis function remains agile, responsive, and aligned with evolving business needs
