About the job

This position is a hands-on role to support the management of our data center footprint across the US and EU as well as our AWS cloud infrastructure. Successful candidates join at a time where we are executing on a hybrid strategy that will optimize our on-premise data center infrastructure while leveraging operational efficiencies in AWS. 

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Build automation to support the existing systems and processes for data center management, hardware lifecycle, server provisioning, and configuration management.
  • Be part of the team that is leading our cloud migration strategy while maintaining a resilient on-premise platform.
  • Drive efficiencies in both cloud and on-prem footprints through a data-driven approach to design decisions. 
  • Demonstrate effective communication by authoring and reviewing design documents, runbooks, and other service documentation.
  • Foster an inclusive environment and imports team members to succeed and grow.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Proficiency with one or more programming languages: Ruby and Go preferred, or alternatively, Java or Python.  
  • Familiarity with Linux.
  • A passion for automation and DevOps.
  • An understanding of computer science fundamentals.
  • Proven ability to work across teams.   

Desired:

  • Computer Science/Engineering Degree or an Equivalent experience. 
  • Understanding of networking concepts and internet application fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL, load balancing, etc).
  • Experience with running one or more public clouds at scale (AWS preferred), using automation to support deployment, scaling, monitoring, and management (Terraform / Pulumi etc.).
  • Past development projects involving interacting with, or creating, structured APIs.

Location 

This role will be based in Dublin or remotely in Ireland.
