The Fintech Risk team at Toast is responsible for driving risk informed growth for the rapidly expanding Toast Fintech line of business. We are seeking a Senior Quantitative Credit Risk Strategist as part of the team, with a focus on the acquisition space. You will work with other analysts, risk managers and leaders to analyze customer characteristics, identify risk differentiators, and recommend underwriting strategies to achieve the risk and return goals. About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

  • Work with the leadership team to define credit risk strategy for new and existing lending products
  • Identify risk drivers and propose mitigation solutions
  • Monitor the existing portfolio to make sure the credit risk is in line with company risk appetite
  • Propose and analyze tests to improve the credit policy and support business growth
  • Maintain and update credit policy documents and credit decisioning engine
  • Create decks and internal memos related to acquisition credit risk strategy
  • Collaborate with R+D, Product, and Operations on the test and launch of new features and/or products

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

  • 4-7 years of experience in retail/consumer/SMB finance in a credit risk or strategy role preferably in Fintech
  • Masters Degree or higher in a quantitative field (Mathematics/Statistics/Economics/OR/Business)
  • Advanced data analytics skills, including use of SQL, Python/R, Excel and data visualization tools such as Looker/Tableau/Hex
  • Familiarity with credit decisioning engine such as Alloy, Taktile, or Provenir a plus
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for championing strategy recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Data driven, self starter
  • Ability to navigate a cross-functional non-hierarchical environment to lead collaborations and drive progress

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.Pay Range$85,000—$136,000 USD
