About the team

We are looking for a Legal Billing Specialist (Accounts Payable) to work with and support the Deliveroo legal team. The Deliveroo legal team is made up of 50+ lawyers (and non-lawyers!) globally, working with a very large number of external law firms, vendors and suppliers in many different markets. The Deliveroo legal team therefore receives, on a monthly basis, multiple invoices that need to be tracked , and our legal billing function manages these, amongst other, invoice processes, allowing the Deliveroo legal team to track spend and budget.

About the role

You will report to the Head of Legal Billing and work with them to ensure any administrative support required by the legal billing team is managed, building processes to handle the large number of invoices and queries received by the Deliveroo legal team from external law firms, vendors, and suppliers. The finance team is operating on a hybrid model and will need to be in the office three times a week.

What you'll do

  • Partner with the finance teams of all external law firms, vendors and suppliers that are engaged by the Deliveroo legal team about the full invoicing process

  • Work with the lawyers in the Deliveroo legal team, training them as to the required process to ensure this is as streamlined as possible.

  • Answer any queries received from the Deliveroo legal team or queries from external law firms, vendors or suppliers).

  • Work with the finance and procurement teams at Deliveroo to ensure efficient processes are established concerning legal billing and ensuring invoices are paid promptly.

  • Help with the opening of Purchase Orders (POs) required for each of our external law firms, vendors and suppliers, to ensure every invoice received has a PO number attributed to it to let settlement.

  • Help with any approval processes required as part of the invoice settling process.

Requirements

  • 3 years experience in the billing/AP or finance team of a large and scaling company.

  • Curiosity and hunger for learning and happy to “roll sleeves"up"

  • Excel in high pressure situations

  • Soft skills - the ability to develop relationships with members of the Deliveroo legal team and its external law firms, vendors and suppliers.
