We are a growing team looking for a Compliance Manager, in the Legal department to help us on our journey to revolutionize road freight logistics. The role is located in our Berlin office.

WHAT YOU WILL DO …

As a Compliance Manager, you’ll work on interesting responsibilities like ensuring the sennder's adherence to applicable law and relevant transportation regulations, providing legal guidance, developing compliance programs, and monitoring and addressing regulatory issues specific to the transportation industry within a fast-paced tech environment. You’ll be collaborating closely with critical stakeholders, including the Operations team to coordinate compliance efforts with our Carriers, the Product team and Engineering team to incorporate legal compliance considerations into platform development and features, and the Finance team to oversee financial aspects of compliance for our business. 

In this role, you will:

• Ensure regulatory compliance: Monitor and uphold adherence to transportation laws and other regulations specific to sennder’s business, successfully mitigating potential legal risks and penalties;
• Collaborate effectively: Foster productive relationships with cross-functional teams, such as Operations, Product, and Engineering, to seamlessly integrate compliance considerations into their respective functions and projects;
• Develop robust compliance programs: Create and implement comprehensive compliance strategies and initiatives tailored to sennder’s unique needs as a digital transportation platform, safeguarding our reputation and operations;
• Proactively address compliance challenges: Identify, address, and resolve compliance issues swiftly, maintaining a record of consistent and effective responses to regulatory changes and concerns, thereby ensuring a strong and compliant foundation for sennder’s business.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR …

We are seeking a qualified lawyer, preferably with German bar exam, with three to four years of post-qualification experience, who is fluent in both German and English, and possesses the following qualifications:

• Proven Transportation Compliance Expertise: Demonstrated experience in navigating and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations in the tech transportation industry, with a track record of successfully addressing regulatory challenges.
• Strong Legal and Analytical Skills: The ability to interpret and apply complex legal requirements to practical business scenarios, coupled with strong analytical skills to assess potential compliance risks.
• Effective Cross-Functional Collaboration: A history of working collaboratively with diverse teams, particularly in Operations, Product, and Finance, to embed compliance considerations within their operations and projects.
• Strategic Compliance Program Development: Experience in designing and implementing tailored compliance programs and strategies, reflecting an understanding of the unique demands of our business.
• Proactive Problem-Solving: The capability to anticipate and address compliance issues swiftly and efficiently, showcasing a proactive approach to regulatory changes and challenges.
• Attention to Detail and Record-Keeping: A meticulous approach to compliance documentation and record-keeping, ensuring a thorough and organized compliance history for the digital transportation platform.
