The Opportunity:

We're looking for a People Business Partner to join the commercetools People team on our journey to transform the future of commerce and build a truly remarkable culture!

As part of the Business Partner Team, you will play a critical role in aligning human resources initiatives and functions with the overall strategic goals of the organization. You will serve as a strategic partner to business leaders and managers, providing guidance, expertise, and support in all areas of HR, including talent management, employee relations, performance management, organizational development, and more. 

Your primary objective will be to foster a positive work environment and ensure that HR practices contribute to the achievement of business objectives.*** Please note: For this role, we are able to consider candidates wishing to work on a hybrid basis who are based in either Munich, Berlin, London, Valencia, or Durham, NC. Regrettably, we will not be able to consider you if you're located elsewhere as this role involves coming into one of our local offices two days per week. ***

Your Mission:

  • Collaborate closely with business leaders to understand their objectives and challenges, and provide HR insights and solutions that support the achievement of business goals
  • Participate in strategic planning discussions with assigned business units to align HR initiatives with the overall organizational strategy
  • Act as a consultant to business units, offering expert advice on HR policies, practices, and trends
  • Help drive the talent management process, including performance management, talent development, and succession planning
  • Identify high-potential employees and work with leaders to create individual development plans
  • Act as a point of contact for employees and managers, addressing employee concerns, conflicts, and providing guidance on HR policies and procedures
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints or workplace issues and recommend appropriate resolutions
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback conversations
  • Assist in identifying performance gaps and implementing performance improvement plans as necessary

 

What you need to succeed:

  • 3+ years of experience in HR roles, with a focus on HR business partnering or HR consulting
  • A degree or certificate(s) in HR or a related field
  • Experience working in the tech/software industry, specifically supporting tech professionals
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities

Nice to have:

  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR, CIPD)

US Pay Range $75,000—$90,000 USD
