A Design Program Manager is responsible for scaling both the quality and speed of our product development, with a comprehensive focus on all facets of Design and User Experience including insights, product thinking, strategy, and execution. They do this by implementing operational systems, connecting teams and knowledge, and problem-solving challenges to enable Designers and Researchers to do their most impactful work.

Role Responsibilities: What you'll do

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and guide team members, fostering a positive and cohesive working atmosphere. Setting clear goals, provides direction, and facilitates professional development.
  • Strategic Planning: sets long-term operational objectives for the design team and aligns design goals with business goals from Product, Engineering, Product Design, Go-to-Market, and Customer Experience.
  • Communication: lead in establishing, maintaining and improving communication channels both within and between teams. 
  • Process Improvement: streamlining workflows/processes, team rituals, and optimizing tools.Creates, scales, and executes strategic programs to ensure Designers and Researchers are working at optimum efficiency
  • Execution: assist the team by proactively identifying and solving problems and issues, openly communicating roadblocks and successes, and managing and prioritizing multiple projects and programs related to operations.
  • Team Building and Support: conflict resolution and fostering a collaborative environment at a macro level, With the collaboration of Product Design or Research Managers to enhance team dynamics and morale.
  • Budget Management: oversees the design budget for tooling and contingent workforce. Ensuring accurate forecasting, identifying future needs and capacity, and driving cost-effectiveness.

Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

  • 12+ years experience as a Design Program Manager, Technical Program/Product Manager with a track record of leadership, execution and vision

  • Experience leading teams, including the ability to inspire, motivate, and lead by example.

  • Experience driving the scaling of product design for both creative quality and product efficiency/engagement

  • Strong understanding of design principles, processes, and methodologies.

  • Mastery of project management tools and software.

  • Demonstrated success in influencing both executive leadership and design teams.

$210,000/year to $230,000/year + equity + benefits

Final salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s final level and final location. Also, this range represents base salary only and does not include equity, or benefits, if applicable.
