As a Principal Software Engineer on the Machine Learning Platform team at Liftoff, you will:

• Help shape our long-term ML Platform strategy and roadmap
• Provide deep technical feedback on current and envisioned ML Platform projects across the organization.
• Work with an experienced team of ML, Software, and Infrastructure Engineers that are building the next generation ML platform for Liftoff
• Design, engineer & implement reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient systems to support our next generation ML Platform.
• Deliver business results by enabling next generation ML models and technologies
• Utilize vendor-based products (AWS, etc.), open-source technologies (PyTorch, PySpark, etc.) and in-house tooling

Requirements: 

• Very strong coding ability (any backend language)
• Strong core CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, architecting systems)
• 10+ years of industry experience
• Experience building Machine Learning tooling or platforms, in particular when applied to large scale problems, is a big plus
• Experience with NVIDIA Triton, PyTorch, or Pyspark is a big plus
• Experience with Go and Python is a plus
• Experience working in high-growth startup atmosphere is a plus 
• A passion for quality and excellence, and the ability to temper it when necessary to ship

Location:

This role eligible for full-time remote work in one of our entities: CA, CO, ID, IL, FL, GA, MA, MI, MN, MO, NJ, NV, NY, OR, TX, UT, and WA. We are a remote-first company with US hubs in Redwood City, Los Angeles, and NYC.

Compensation: 

Liftoff offers all employees a full compensation package that includes equity and health/vision/dental benefits associated with your country of residence. Base compensation will vary based on candidate location and experience. The following are our base salary ranges for this role: 

SF Bay Area, NYC, Los Angeles/Orange County: $290,000 - $350,000Seattle/Olympia, Austin, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Boston: $266,000 - $320,000All other cities and towns in our approved states: $249,400 - $300,000
