📣  A bit about the role.  

Location: This role can be located near one of our main office locations but would require 50 - 75% travel based on business needs between our Operational facility, Suppliers and European facilities / partners.

Job Overview:

Butternut Box is looking for a dynamic and experienced Procurement Director to lead our procurement and sourcing strategies across the expanding  Butternut group. We are at a point of significant European growth and need to springboard into our next level of growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management background across food capital and indirect areas and a proven track record of optimising procurement processes to drive cost savings and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to ensure the availability of high-quality ingredients and materials for Butternut Box products.
  • Build plans for readiness of European and International growth, building a sustainable Procurement function for the future. 

Cost Management:

  • Analyse market trends, ensure meaningful cost analysis and implement cost-effective procurement strategies to respond to the market dynamics. 
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Identify potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and cultivate strong relationships.
  • Monitor and drive supplier performance, address issues, and drive continuous improvement in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay informed about market dynamics, regulatory changes, and other factors impacting procurement activities.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing, multi-disciplined and cross-functional procurement team.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

 

👋  A bit about you. 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Demonstrated years and output of experience in procurement or supply chain management, focusing on strategic sourcing.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving cost savings and process improvements.
  • Extensive experience in both food and indirect Procurement is preferred.
