The Security team’s mission is to strengthen Okta’s position as the leading Identity-as-a-service solutions provider by identifying and resolving risks to employees, products, and, most importantly, our customers. With the ever-increasing pace of cloud application adoption, companies are struggling to find ways to accurately assess risk and act at the speed of their business.

As a Product Security Intern, you will work closely with our seasoned security professionals to identify, analyze, and address potential vulnerabilities in our products. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on product security experience, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to improving our security posture.

• Perform penetration testing on applications, networks, and systems to simulate real-world attacks and assess their resilience.
• Participate in code review processes to identify and remediate security issues in the software development lifecycle.
• Promote security awareness among development teams by creating educational materials and conducting training sessions.
• Document security processes, findings, and recommendations for internal knowledge sharing and future reference.

• (In progress) BS in Information Systems or MIS, or a related degree 
• An excitement to learn about information security with a focus on Product Security or Application Security
• 0+ years of experience in information security with a focus on Product Security or Application Security
• Knowledge of modern web application components development, architecture, and design principles
• Knowledge of product/application security concepts and several other security areas concepts
• Knowledge of secure code reviews and/or penetration testing

As an intern, you’ll do real work that matters. While you’re on board, you’ll work on meaningful projects and have an opportunity to see what working at Okta is all about. You’ll also have the support of your mentor and manager to help you develop new skills. 

Our interns have the opportunity to build a strong community - with their fellow interns, within their teams, and with the broader company. We want you to grow professionally and you’ll do that through participating in events like our Executive Speaker Series and Brown Bags.  And of course, we want you to have fun too.

Interns may choose the format of their internship: either in-person at one of our Okta offices, or virtually. We give our interns the opportunity to choose the option that best suits their needs.
