About the job

This position is needed to drive implementation of security strategy and objectives in alignment with the Corporate Security team.

Utilizing expert level security knowledge, this role will deliver effective security services that provide a safe and secure environment for our top line leaders and employees in the form of Executive Protection, Travel, and Event Security. As a function of the Corporate Security team,  this role will report to the Director, Corporate Security Operations & Intelligence.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

• Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to internal stakeholders to advocate for appropriate, balanced, and reasonable risk mitigation regarding executive protection risks
• Oversee executive protection vendor contracts, including vendors for agent security coverage, risk assessment, and security software usage and vetting
• Lead event security initiatives by providing guidance and direction to organize and manage security for various internal/external events
• Strategically and holistically plan security support for events in coordination with non-security groups responsible for global events.
• Lead travel security initiatives to design, implement, and continuously improve travel safety and security programs internationally
• Maintain awareness of global events that could, directly or indirectly, impact Twilio travel and its assets, sharing commentary, analysis and data.

Required:

• 8+ years experience in executive protection, event security, travel security or risk management as an FTE (non-contract role)
• Global situational awareness and a strong understanding of, or keen interest in, geopolitics, international security, and current affairs.
• Extensive experience managing security operations across multiple locations with a track record of success and increasing responsibilities.
• Ability to demonstrate a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact. 

Desired:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field and/or 9+ years of related experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with Corporate Security, Event Security, or Executive Protection Teams
• Experience in protection strategies, tactics, and technology.
• Demonstrated technical capabilities related to protection services preferred
• Experience chartering, managing, and maturing security programs 

Location

This role will be remote but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

Travel

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

• Based in Colorado: $135,000 - $169,000
• Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $143,000- $179,000
• This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
