Pinterest’s renowned House of Creative team is looking for a Senior Director of Creative from an art direction background to lead our most famous work yet. Be part of the team that continues to put an highly creative and unexpected twist on the approach to all campaigns we touch from Consumer to B2B and everything in between. You’ll run a team of multidisciplinary creatives and draw on your expertise to not only deliver jaw-dropping creative work but serve as a mentor and guide to those you lead. You also have a deep understanding of design craft and could lead and give credible feedback to a group of talented in-house designers (across a breadth of disciplines, like graphic, motion, digital, video, editing, etc) when bringing those concepts to life across a variety of formats. And perhaps most importantly, you understand that the “how” is just as important as the “what” when it comes to getting work done. We are looking for a genuinely respectful leader who knows how to build relationships cross-functionally and also knows how to build trust with their teams, peers and leadership. You must be inherently diplomatic and leave a positive wake.  In partnership with the VP of Creative, you and the team you oversee will create the most impactful, innovative, and inspirational work of their careers -- and of Pinterest's history.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee a multidisciplinary group of creatives on the Pinterest House of Creative team 
  • Drive a deeper conceptual approach to all marketing as we continue to reinvent how best to reach out audiences in unmissable ways. Leveraging your expertise in creating earned media driving campaigns, you’ll strategically create work that maximizes our media dollars. 
  • Continue to set a new standard in how we market the Pinterest brand to consumers and advertisers. You’ll work on campaigns for the Consumer Marketing team, Performance Marketing and Advertiser marketing (B2B) across all media. 
  • Uplevel creative quality of work across the team in partnership with marketing and continue to deliver consistently higher ROI on our work by provide meaningful feedback to in-house creative directors and designers across a breadth of disciplines (eg. graphic design, motion graphics, art direction, photography, packaging, experiential, digital, video, editing, etc with a variety of formats
  • Manage a variety of cross-functional relationships from your peers in the House of Creative to the broader marketing, communications, product, legal and product marketing teams to name a few. 
  • Create an inclusive environment where people can do their best work possible. 

What we’re looking for:

  • 12+ years as a creative leader at a globally recognized ad agency
  • 3+ years brandside creative experience working in-house for iconic, global brands
  • A highly-respected creative director who can credibly lead across all parts of creative development with a deep knowledge of visual craft and storytelling. You know which levers need to be pulled, when, to ensure a campaign, activation, or concept hits the mark.
  • Award-winning portfolio of outstanding creative work done on a variety of brands 
  • People manager with deep experience managing dynamic & creative teams. A mentor who is energized by growing others’ careers and knows how to motivate a team
  • A leader who prefers to lead by doing; you can’t resist the urge to practice your craft by rolling up your sleeves and working alongside your team to unlock creativity.
  • Working knowledge of all design apps from Adobe to Figma
  • Social-first approach with the ability to scale to Super Bowl worthy spots and captivating activations
  • A very strong operational leader who can get the teams and work streams organized to ensure they get off as smoothly as possible. 
  • An inspiring communicator that represents creative work, builds trust and influences alignment of our creative vision across Product and PR.
