STAFF ACCOUNTANT

As the company expands its international footprint and provides Starlink (our revolutionary satellite low-latency broadband internet) across Europe, Starlink Internet Services Limited is seeking a staff accountant for our Dublin office to help ensure that our financial reporting obligations are met.

The Staff Accountant will focus on Europe operations and will join our new and dynamic business division, Starlink. Starlink provides satellite internet coverage to over 50 countries around the world. Its mission is to deliver global internet access, and it is ideally suited to support rural and geographically isolated areas where internet connectivity is unreliable or nonexistent. Based in Dublin and reporting to the Finance Director, the Staff Accountant will have a broad and varied role, supporting the existing team with both tax and accounting work. The ideal candidate will have worked with multinational organizations and have experience with audit, financial reporting, and tax.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist with the audit process for Irish entity and other European entities
  • Prepare statutory financial statements for subsidiaries across Europe, intercompany accounting, recording of entries between group companies
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, VAT balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries arising from entity level review at month end, and VAT returns for review by senior accountant, including retrieval of data from systems for all European entities
  • Preparation of payments files and assisting with the completion of the corporate income tax returns and year-end tax provision
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing local files and tracking of intercompany balances
  • Research and resolve tax technical issues arising in the tax compliance process, support of day-to-day finance operations in Europe as require, and ad hoc finance projects as directed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Degree in accounting, tax, finance, or business discipline
  • Finalist or recently qualified ACA or ACCA
  • 3+ years of accounting or audit experience in public accounting/Big 4, or with a large multinational organization, including experience with accounting matters and tax across Europe

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Financial reporting experience, GAAP, some knowledge of US GAAP preferable.
  • Experience with multinational environment.
  • Detail oriented, excellent analytical skills and numerically minded.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Intercompany accounting experience preferable
  • VAT experience preferable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with global teams and ability to be a team player within a small local team.
  • Ability to work to multiple tight deadlines.
  • Ability to embrace change based on business needs, and ability to work in a startup type environment. Adaptability and flexibility will be essential.
  • Pursuing or looking to pursue AITI exams

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This is an onsite position based in Dublin, Ireland. Remote work will not be considered
