Role Description Dropbox’s Strategic Finance team is led by professionals from top-tier investment banking backgrounds, and provides data-driven insights and strategic direction for the company.  You’ll get substantial senior leadership exposure, focus real-time on the highest priority business issues and be plugged into every facet of the business.    Example Projects: 
  • Build bottoms up models for specific business segments to assist with making investment decisions and scenario planning
  • Build the business case and help determine pricing for new product launches or evaluate the impact of changing pricing and packaging of existing products 
  • Help the Business Development team negotiate and structure partnership agreements with leading technology companies such as Adobe, Zoom, and Slack 
  • Partner with the Corporate Development team to analyze adjacent markets, identify top acquisition targets for Dropbox, and evaluate potential synergies from acquisitions 
Responsibilities
  • Build bottoms up, driver based models that can be used for scenario planning and decision-making 
  • Evaluate the financial impact of strategic decisions across the company and turn those insights into actionable results 
  • Support strategic projects such as new revenue generating or efficiency initiatives, which involve heavy data analysis and modeling
  • Analyze, synthesize and present complex information in a clear manner to leadership, including C-Suite 
  • Assist with M&A execution, including product and growth strategy, synergy analysis, and integration planning
  • Work cross-functionally with FP&A and other teams within Finance to support Outlook and Budget in relevant revenue/product areas
Requirements
  • 2 - 3 years of experience at top-tier investment banking, equity research, buyside (Equities, PE, VC) or consulting firm, or prior strategic finance / bizops experience 
  • Strong financial modeling skills with ability to build detailed models from scratch with limited guidance
  • Strong analytical and technical skills 
  • Ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and concrete action plans 
  • Proactive personality and comfortable working independently in a virtual-first environment 
  • Degree in Economics, Finance, or a Quantitative field (Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering) is preferred
  • Experience doing data analysis for a technology company or experience with SQL is a plus (SQL is required for the job)
  • Former Saas industry experience is a plus

Dropbox takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation.  We target most new hire offers between the minimum up to the middle of the range.

Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Current Salary/OTE Ranges (Subject to change):• US Zone 1: $109,600 - $128,900 - $148,200.• US Zone 2: $98,600 - $116,000 - $133,400.• US Zone 3: $87,600 - $103,100 - $118,600. Dropbox uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current US Zone locations are as follows:• US Zone 1: San Francisco metro, New York City metro, or Seattle metro• US Zone 2: Austin (TX) metro, Chicago metro, California (outside SF metro), Colorado, Connecticut (outside NYC metro), Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York (outside NYC metro), Oregon, Pennsylvania (outside NYC or DC metro), Washington (outside Seattle metro) and Washington DC metro• US Zone 3: All other US locations
