Role

General Assembly’s workforce development & social impact team engages public, corporate and philanthropic funding to drive economic mobility and expand access to careers in technology for groups underrepresented in tech roles globally. This VP, Workforce Development & Social Impact will be responsible for growing GA’s high-impact partnerships with governments, mission-oriented institutions, and other community organizations globally. They will operate as an organizational expert in understanding how GA can access new government funding sources and building partnerships with key regional stakeholders, working cross functionally to ensure that GA’s products and services are aligned with the needs of these partners in building meaningful training and career opportunities for their communities.

Responsibilities 

  • Grow GA business lines serving local, regional and national workforce transformation initiatives funded by philanthropy, corporation, and/or the public sector
  • Own the GTM strategy and P&L for large scale workforce transformation initiatives, including shaping the product and go-to-market approach
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities, lead RFP responses, and shepherd highly complex, multi-party deals through design, contracting, close and delivery
  • Provide executive sponsorship and oversight of programs in delivery, and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders to support the future growth of partnerships
  • Work closely across multiple internal functional areas to seamlessly operationalize deals, building buy in and support across the organization to get things done
  • Effectively communicate the value of GA to potential partners and key stakeholders by quantifying our impact on people and communities
  • Partner with regulatory, finance, and consumer operations to unlock government subsidies for learners in high demand regions
  • Maintain and build rapport with senior public and private stakeholders to formulate strong, long-term business relationships
  • Contribute to external thought leadership opportunities and public policy dialogues on inclusive growth and economic advancement
  • Lead a high-performing cross functional team that can deliver on short term revenue targets while advancing the team’s long term vision for impact

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in public sector, workforce development partnerships, and/or general management roles
  • Proven track record of building and scaling new businesses and revenue streams
  • You are a self-starter - you have a bias towards action and excel in a fast-paced, quickly changing/evolving business
  • You are a problem solver - you have a talent for managing complex projects, driving high-level goals into actionable plans, and enjoy implementing processes.
  • You have a proven ability to deliver outstanding results in a timely manner using a strong sense of focus, organization, and meticulous attention to detail
  • You are a relationship-builder - you can motivate people at all levels. You build sustainable relationships, manage a team, influence stakeholders, and inspire others

The anticipated annualized salary range for this position in the US market is $150,000 and $175,000. Salary will be determined based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.  If hired as a regular full-time employee, this position will include a variable compensation plan which could be a bonus or a commission.

US benefit offerings for full-time employment may include medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits, wellness plans & reimbursement and retirement programs.  Available paid leave may include paid time off, parental leave and holiday pay.
