The Detection Engineering team within MongoDB’s Security Operations organization plays a critical role in protecting MongoDB, our employees, and our customers. The team’s mission is to proactively identify and surface threats by building robust logging, detections, alerting, and automation that reduce risk across the company, departments, teams, and customers. Detection Engineering designs and operates security monitoring and detections across MongoDB’s corporate, internal SaaS, and customer-facing MongoDB Atlas environments, administering key security regarding SOAR/SIEM and data loss prevention (DLP) systems to monitor our environment and flag signals that are worth deeper investigation. As an InfoSec Engineering Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience with security tools involving SOAR/SIEM, DLP, and internally developed tools. You’ll work cross-functionally with security engineers and stakeholders across MongoDB to correlate data, build and maintain detections, and to automate routine triage tasks so that downstream incident response teams can safeguard MongoDB’s infrastructure, data, and employees with high-quality signals.
