The team you’ll join
StepStone Real Estate (SRE) boasts extensive knowledge and experience with $178B+ in AUA and $20B+ in AUM as of December 31, 2025. SRE leverages the strengths of our investment and advisory teams, drawing on our deep market research and investment analysis to create compelling opportunities and tailored portfolios of fund investments, secondaries, and co-investments for institutional investors worldwide.
The Investment Team invests discretionary capital through our flagship GP-led secondaries fund, SREP, and several separately managed accounts (SMAs). The advisory team offers a full suite of capabilities to serve institutional investors seeking access to the private real estate markets on scale through committing to funds.
About the role
As a Real Estate Intern, you will join StepStone’s Real Estate Team in London and gain exposure to the dynamic world of private real estate investing. This internship is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience, offering insight into market trends, investment strategies, and client advisory processes. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment that emphasizes mentorship and professional development.
What you’ll do
As a Real Estate Intern, you will contribute to projects that impact our investment and advisory processes. You’ll collaborate with team members, participate in due diligence, and develop insights that shape real estate strategies across global markets.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in underwriting and assessing prospective fund managers for advisory mandates
- Support evaluation of potential investments and asset management of the existing real estate portfolio
- Perform market research using public sources and proprietary databases to identify and analyze macroeconomic trends
- Prepare for and participate in meetings with fund managers and contribute to active investment and advisory due diligence
- Create and present materials for internal discussions, including Investment Committee meetings
- Communicate positions clearly in both written and verbal formats within a collaborative team environment
What we’re looking for
- Must be able to work legally in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be able to work full-time for 3-4 months in our London office and be able to start in May or June 2026
- Currently enrolled in university and graduating anywhere from December 2026 through June 2027 with a BA/BS or MSc, preferably in Real Estate
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrable analytical capabilities, including strong quantitative/modeling skills
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive and team-oriented approach
- Enthusiastic interest in Real Estate
