Building on its success, Mintel is currently seeking an enthusiastic Accountant, APAC with an extremely high attention to detail to join our APAC Finance team to be based in our Singapore office.
What You Will Be Doing
- Responsible for full spectrum (AP, GL, FA and Intercompany) of finance function within APAC.
- Prepare and review closing journals for responsible entities.
- Review AP entries, creditor listings and ensure outsourced vendor is doing accurately.
- Review payment prelists on every Monday and Wednesday for staff claims and vendor invoices to ensure they are in compliance with company policies.
- Check bank templates as per payment prelists.
- Approve concur entries for vendor invoices.
- Review staff claims entries into accounting system.
- Prepare and review month end reporting packs and provide analytical commentary for HQ submission on 10th every month.
- Ensure proper and accurate financial reporting are in compliance with all statutory legislation and regulations.
- Investigate PL variances and compare budget to actual and period over period.
- In charge of all balance sheet schedules, tax reporting, banking matters, corporate secretarial matters and any corporate governance reporting. Responsible for own entities’ matters.
- Work on reconciliation between APAC system against statutory accounts.
- Review and check bank reconciliations, creditor listing and intercompany postings.
- Prepare and review monthly cashflow forecast.
- Assist in annual global audit and tax.
- Be responsible for local statutory audit and tax
- Prepare monthly/ quarterly GST/ VAT reports for filing.
- Prepare and review annual tax computation
- Liaise with Auditors, Tax agents, corporate secretary and banks.
- Assist and preparation of annual budget process.
- Liaise with budget owners on cost control.
- Be responsible and be supervisory role for the team member’s work.
- Lead and participate in ad hoc projects and other rotating duties amongst team members.
What We Are Looking For
- Diploma or Degree in Accountancy or its equivalent is necessary
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Accounting and tax background in a MNC setting
- Willingness to learn and progress upward
- Meticulous and able to work independently
- Possess professional analytical skill
- Must have a can-do/ must-do attitude
- Possess a sense of responsibility in tasks
- Good time management skills and ability to meet assigned deadlines in a fast pace working environment
- Strong interpersonal skill to liaise with other members of the finance team
