About the job

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position will primarily focus on Twilio’s internally developed capitalized software process to ensure it is complete and accurate. The successful candidate will partner internally with Finance & Accounting teams to understand what improvements can be made to our processes and anticipate accounting impacts, as well as becoming a go-to partner for R&D resources to connect with as a capitalized software owner. We are looking for an individual excited to bring their passion for process improvement to a collaborative team-based working environment in a fast-growing company.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Execute monthly accounting close with a focus on capitalized internally developed software
  • Help with various projects within the team and other GL transactions
  • Partner cross functionally with Finance, Accounting & Engineering teams to ensure capitalization is complete and accurate.

Required:

  • 1+ years in public accounting or experience working at a fast growing company
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes
  • Ability to prioritize work independently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to influence and build effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Team player with strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

Desired:

  • Experience with SOX controls
  • Experience with Oracle ERP
  • Experience working with capitalized software is a plus but not required
  • Active/working toward CPA license a plus

Location

This role will be remote but is not eligible to be hired in California, New York, New Jersey, Washington, or Pennsylvania..

Travel

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado: $69,600 - $87,000.

  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
