Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for an Associate Director of Healthcare Retail Analytics to join our Healthcare Analytics Team. In this role, you will lead a team of analytics personnel in delivering high quality insights, driving recommendations, and developing data tools. You will partner directly with Healthcare senior leaders to meet the analytics needs of Category Management along with other cross-functional stakeholders and deliver both tools and analyses that improve assortment, customer experience, and financial metrics.

The ideal candidate has proven experience leading analytics teams, building data tools and processes that scale, along with superior analytical, technical, and financial acumen. The ideal candidate excels at both Thinking Big and Operating at Depth, demonstrating exemplary skills analyzing large data sets, partnering with business stakeholders to drive prioritization, and turning analyses into action. This individual is highly proficient in developing talent and leading cross-functional programs while being able to operate with minimal direction from leadership. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required as this role will lead teams, interface directly with executive leadership, and own prioritization of analytics needs across multiple teams.

What you'll do:

  • Partner directly with Healthcare senior leadership to prioritize and deliver Retail analytics initiatives across multiple functional groups and stakeholders  
  • Proactively anticipate the analytics needs of Category Management and Product owners to build tools and solutions which data retrieval, insights generation, and self-serve analytics
  • Lead development of best-in-class measurement frameworks for evaluating assortment, promotion and discount effectiveness, and customer behavior across all dimensions of Chewy’s business
  • Proactively generate analysis ideas, measure and analyze business trends, and deliver actionable insights and recommendations in research style documents to broad stakeholder groups
  • Lead recurring business reviews to share team progress, wins, and opportunities
  • Mentor, coach, and develop analytics team members
  • Provide hands-on guidance to multiple analytics team members in developing reports, managing data processes, and delivering analyses across multiple retail verticals
  • Program manage cross-functional initiatives related to change management, ensuring necessary updates are made to impacted data products
  • Partner with Technology and Product teams to assess downstream impact of process or feature changes
  • Lead analytics and data engineering teams to prioritize and QA development of new data tables, metrics, and products 

What you'll need:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Analytics related discipline such as Finance, Economics, Math, Statistics or a related degree with analytics and quantitative emphasis; MBA or Masters in Analytics preferred 
  • Minimum 8 years delivering business insights and analytics tools in an ecommerce or retail setting
  • Strong leadership skills with minimum of 5 years managing people
  • Strong understanding of Ecommerce and retail strategies across pricing, assortment, fulfillment, and inventory management
  • Exemplary stakeholder management and prioritization skills using systems, processes, and scalable frameworks
  • Proven experience delivering large scale analytics initiatives on tight timelines
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills using data to recommend and drive actions
  • Advanced Excel skills (data connections, complex formulas, pivot tables; VBA preferred) 
  • Strong data visualization skills using software such as Tableau or complementary visualization tools
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with cloud-based data storage and extraction processes
  • Thorough understanding of Financial KPIs and P&L statement
  • High degree of proficiency creating and interpreting business metrics, executing complex analyses, and connecting multiple data sources to explain business performance
  • Superior attention to detail and experience building processes to validate data integrity
  • Proven experience leading teams and delivering results in ambiguous and resource constrained environments  
  • Passion for data and an obsession to use data to drive value for customers and business
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Bonus:

  • MBA, Masters in Analytics, or equivalent advanced academic degree
  • Project Management Certification
  • Advanced technical skills using R, Python, or other programming languages
  • Data modeling experience in Merchandising, Finance, Retail/Ecommerce
