Agile Project Manager (Project and Program Management)

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Agile Project Manager will work closely with multi-functional teams, and engineering development managers to develop the scope, results, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for the new/existing initiatives. This role requires experience with new product program releases and a passion for delivering customer solutions using Agile development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Own and manage engineering projects to ensure on time release of products and solutions.
  • Manage and influence partners, including- business, product, development team members on solution delivery and scope.
  • Serve as the scrum master/project manager for their delivery teams by enabling the team to self-organize, remove impediments, and nurture an environment for hard-working team dynamics.
  • Work closely and use standard processes with the delivery team to support daily standup, backlog refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives, and long-term release planning.
  • Manage project budget and resources efficiently, optimizing workload and resource allocation.
  • Leverage Fortive Business System tools to implement visual and daily management and appropriate standard work.
  • Drive improvements in the product development processes to increase product quality, program cycle time, and development costs.
  • Source issues, problems, and ideas from developers, as well as other teams to come up with solutions for problems.
  • Ensure development programs have robust plans and resource alignment for execution
  • Implement and improve Agile development processes and tools into existing programs/processes
  • Raise resource conflicts and drive to resolution with engineering leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal and external collaborators, and partner with vendors as required by the program.
  • Track project progress and generate comprehensive reports using reporting tools and dashboards.
  • Align program success with meeting business objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date on Agile trends and best practices, continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and team productivity.
Organizational Alignment:
  • Reports to the Sr. Manager – Agile and R&D Operations
  • Deliver quality software early and often, better technical practices, eliminate waste, improve lead/cycle time for throughput, and reduce project risks.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: SKILLS:

Required Skills:

  • 6 to 8 years Project Management experience
  • 15 Years of progressive industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Electrical/ Electronic engineering.
  • Experience with managing scope, schedule, budget and quality of projects.
  • Implementation history of complex engineering release.
  • Solid understanding of both the theory and application of Agile practices, including Scrum, Kanban, SAFe and XP.
  • Analytical, relationship building, problem-solving abilities, and collaboration across team boundaries
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Good understanding of SW architecture.
Preferred Skills:
  • PMP Certification desired.
  • Scrum Master (CSM) and a Scrum Professional (CSP) certification would be an asset.
  • Change agent who is a positive organizational influence.
  • Professional experience within a SaaS organization preferred.
