Lincoln International is seeking an Analyst to join our growing and market-leading Capital Advisory Team, based in Frankfurt. Successful candidates have strong analytical and interpersonal abilities, a keen desire to develop their professional skills, and are motivated by the prospect of contributing to a leading Capital Advisory and M&A advisory firm. Successful Analysts are eager learners with a proactive mindset to succeed in a fast-paced, people-oriented, and entrepreneurial environment.

In Germany, our team comprises over 90 bankers covering a very broad range of sectors, including Industrials & Renewables, Consumer, Technology, Business Services, Healthcare, as well as Capital Advisory, located in Frankfurt, Munich and Berlin. The European Lincoln International Capital Advisory Group has successfully advised on 350+ transactions since its inception with capabilities across various structures and complexity on transactions ranging from Euro 50 to 500 million in financing volumes. In 2024 we had another record performance of our Capital Advisory Group by providing creative and alternative financing solutions to clients out of 5 European offices with more than 25 dedicated professionals to secure capital for acquisition financings, investments, refinancings & recapitalisations, staple financings, navigating distressed situations, and developing structured capital solutions.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

At Lincoln International, Analysts gain broad exposure to the Capital Advisory business in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting market research and financial analysis to support client engagements
  • Assisting senior team members within the Capital Advisory Group (CAG) in Frankfurt on debt financing transactions (acquisition financing, refinancing, recapitalisation etc.) as part of the wider European CAG team
  • Preparing marketing documents, presentations, and pitch materials
  • Supporting financial analysis & modelling, including business forecasts, scenario analysis, and covenant sensitivities
  • Identifying and contacting finance providers for transactions
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams across Europe within CAG and M&A teams to ensure seamless project execution
  • Attending client meetings and supporting discussions
  • Interacting with senior bankers and clients’ senior executives as exposure develops
  • Contributing to initiatives focused on growing the firm’s franchise value

Qualifications:

  • The Analyst role is ideal for individuals looking to build a strong foundation in Capital Advisory and corporate finance, with the following targets:
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably through internships or prior roles in Capital Advisory, Leveraged Finance, Transaction Services, Business Modelling, or related areas
  • Solid grounding in Accounting, Corporate Finance, or Leveraged Finance, complemented by strong business acumen
  • Exceptional academic record, ideally with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a business-related field
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a willingness and eagerness to learn and grow professionally
  • Basic understanding of business models and sectors, corporate strategy, and company growth themes
  • Proactive, self-motivated, dependable, and adaptable with an ability to manage a dynamic workload
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging clients and colleagues alike
  • Collaborative mindset with a personable approach
  • International experiences and perspectives are advantageous
  • Fluent in written and spoken German and English (at least C1 level proficiency)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
