Analyst, Commerce SEO

We’re seeking an analyst that will report to the Senior Manager, SEO and dotted line into the centralized Commerce team to leverage search in order to achieve affiliate revenue goals, with emphasis on Vox Media’s premier shopping site, The Strategist. The ideal candidate is curious and creative in their data analysis; has a strong understanding of the relationship between SEO and commerce and communicates their findings effectively; and can collaborate well with commerce and editorial partners.

WHO WE ARE

The Vox Media product team seeks to grow, engage, and retain our audience across our portfolio of brands and Concert publishers by creating and serving best-in-class, innovative, engaging products and experiences. The SEO team is part of a centralized Analytics team, situated in the Product organization and working across both Product and Editorial. We own the company's POV and strategy for both Content and Technical SEO.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Maintain and monitor regular automated SEO reports in support of Vox Media’s commerce goals on The Strategist, The Cut, Popsugar, The Verge, and Polygon 
  • Build and support ad-hoc reports and dashboards across multiple SEO and commerce data sources to inform areas of growth opportunity 
  • Perform research and analyses of SEO and commerce data and interpret results; draw insights and deliver actionable feedback for partners
  • Advise on and document SEO best practices and strategies for partners
  • Communicate and report on impact from algorithm updates to commerce content; collaborate with partners on plans for improvement as needed
  • Maintain strong relationships with partners in order to communicate and assist on strategies for growth from search
WHO YOU ARE
  • You have 2-3 years of full-time experience in the commerce SEO space 
  • You have a strong understanding of editorial SEO, with a focus on commerce content
  • You have a strong understanding of search and commerce KPIs 
  • You are analytical and detail oriented, with a passion not just for reporting data, but also for identifying underlying themes around key trends, results and critical outcomes
  • You have experience with various analytics and SEO tools, such as Google Search Console, Google Trends, Google Analytics, Moz, SEMrush or equivalent
  • You have experience monitoring changes in ranking and search performance 
  • You have experience with Excel/Google Sheets and can aggregate data from disparate sources in a consolidated view
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills
Bonus points for:
  • A passion for digital publishing; experience working in a commerce website in a fluid editorial environment
  • Knowledge of technical SEO and experience with Screaming Frog and/or Lumar/DeepCrawl
  • Experience identifying errors in Google Search Console and communicating them to product teams
  • Experience utilizing data stored in Google BigQuery

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.

Pay Range$81,000—$91,000 USD
