Analyst, WFNA Email Communications (Advanced Analytics & Major Promotions)

The Customer Communications team is responsible for all email, app push, and SMS communications between Wayfair and our customers. Within this team, the Advanced Analytics & Major Promotions role will sit under Wayfair North America Batch Email and report into that team’s lead. The role is newly-formed so the analyst will have the opportunity to shape the exact responsibilities according to their interests and strengths, but they will be responsible for all things data and analytics for the broader team, including gathering data-driven insights, optimizing channel testing, serving as our marketing data subject matter expert, and channel performance reporting. The analyst will also execute on the Major Promotions Strategy for the Email Team.  If you have a passion for testing and learning, are interested in data-driven marketing, like structuring and answering ambiguous problems, enjoy getting your hands dirty in large datasets, then this is the role for you!

 

What You'll Do

  • Advanced analytics & insights: a) Perform ad-hoc deep-dive analyses that require advanced SQL and data table knowledge and b) Lead insight-driven roadmapping, identifying opportunities for channel improvement based on analyses performed
  • Data expert: a) Chief partner for Marketing Data Engineering, serving as the primary point of contact on a daily basis, prioritizing medium-term asks (sprint planning), and shaping long-term roadmap and b) Become the subject matter expert on data tables (e.g., what data is available, where it lives, how we should use it, broadly communicating these across the broader team, etc.)
  • Major Promotion Strategy Execution: Work on and influence Major Shopping Holiday Strategy, including interfacing with creative partners, managing timelines, and carrying out the learning agenda for the workstream. 
  • Performance reporting for Promotions: a) Standardize channel metrics and create scalable dashboards across stores/geos, b) prepare performance analyses and draft narratives, and c) field performance-related questions from MSO and Trends

 

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Sciences, Economics, Business, or other concentrations with a quantitative focus
  • 2+ years of experience ideally in a data-heavy role or in marketing, management consulting, startup/tech, finance, and/or strategy fields
  • Proficiency in data analysis and advanced SQL knowledge and Google Sheets/Excel usage; excitement about finding patterns in data; knowledge of Python is a plus
  • Excellent critical thinking and verbal and written communication skills - ability to break down and communicate complex ideas and influence senior level and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to independently own and execute on solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, learn quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • A desire to win as a team - collaborative team player who wants to see themselves and others succeed and thrive

 

Note - This is a hybrid role based out of our Boston office (4 days/week in office, 1 day/week remote)
