What is Taboola News?

Taboola News is the largest content discovery system in the world. It is a relatively new product for Taboola, but has already launched and is running globally in more than 50 markets, with some of the leading OEMs in the world.

The Taboola News team is required to have the highest level of technical knowledge, due to the low maturity of the product, the high volume  of traffic and our premium customers using Taboola News require top of the line service.

What is the key purpose of an Android Developer?  

Working from Beijing, The Developer will report into the Technical Account Director and be responsible for implementing Android products, and integrating Taboola News products to the main OEMs, while being very customer-centric and service oriented.

The ideal candidate will have to work closely with the Taboola News Account Management teams , Taboola News Dev team and  OEMs Dev team.

What skills and qualifications do I need?

• Bachelor's Degree (computer science preferred or comparable work experience), Graduated with 985/211 university， passed CET-4
• 3+ years of experience in a position of Android software developer , familiar with Android App development , high quality UI Design and multi-threads coding. ability of design and implement a middle size app independently
• Experience on Java/Kotlin language , Android SDK/NDK, Experience on  Object-Oriented Design principle. 
• Experience of cross-process communication in Android, data persistent, http , deeplink, etc. 
• Experience of  Android Layout, View design , create customized control ,  experience of screen adoption under different resolutions .
• Proficient technique on Activity ,Service ,Receiver ,Content Provider；
• Experience of Animation effect on Android.
• Proficiency in reading and writing english tech doc, can communicate verbally 

Bonus:

• Experience of Lockscreen app development or Widget development。
• Experience on AOSP，Framework，SystemUI，Launcher 。
• Any integration experience with any top OEMs 

What will I be doing on a day-to day today basis?

• Design and Implement the key module/function of Taboola Android Lockscreen products.
• Integrate with SystemUI module  of OEM(customer),  collaborate with OEM’s dev team and debug issues.
• Design and Implement POC /Demo project independently.
• Work with QA team closely to ensure the quality of products.
• Provide responsive support for any production issues.
