YOUR MISSION

In Glovo, we want to change the way consumers buy groceries. Our mission is to revolutionize the industry by delivering an unparalleled experience to our clients. As an Area Manager you will be the main responsible to manage and coordinate the MFCs (Micro Fulfilment Centers) team, focusing on implementing, improving and controlling all operational processes, driving them towards the exceptional performance our customers demand. THE JOURNEY

  • Be responsible for the operations of the Micro Fulfillment Centers in your region (Valencia, Sevilla, Málaga, Zaragoza, Palma de Mallorca). Manage staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Change/ Six Sigma initiatives necessary to enable the Operations plans.
  • Supervise all the operations of the MFC, both on the Logistics side and the Store, with the support of the MFC Managers.
  • Be owner of all the MFCs OKR of your region. Continuously facilitate analysis and dashboards to give visibility on the performance of the main operational KPIs.
  • Manage the team, composed by 5 direct reports (MFC Managers) with responsibility for each shift within a very fast-paced/ time-critical and demanding environment and 175 employees (Pickers and Couriers) in the team under your scope of responsibility.
  • Measure performance through metrics, providing feedback, and holding MFC Managers and supervisors accountable for their performance and the performance of their teams.
  • Supervise the maintenance of the working environment ensuring health and safety standards across your stores. Achieve stock accuracy targets. Continuously measure and evaluate the departmental goals and all work processes, available daily labor and daily production goals.
  • Improve quality and eliminate errors, reducing business costs. 
  • Develop MFCs business model with a 360º mindset.
  • Work with a cross-functional team (Operations, CatMan, People, Finance, Health and Safety, Procurement…) to achieve quick and flawless execution.
  • Lead project implementation analysis and translate it into actionable tasks to ensure continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE

  • 4-6 years experience in Logistics or Store, managing high volume teams. 
  • Team Managment Experiencie. Ability and experience to manage large work teams and lead changes. 
  • A data-driven mentality: taking decisions based on data and using good business judgment when necessary. 
  • You've got good judgment but own up to your mistakes.
  • You find smart and elegant solutions to complex, multi-disciplinary problems. 
  • You're highly agile and thrive in ambiguous environments. 
  • You are always respectful, kind, and fair. All of your reports speak highly of you as a manager and leader. 
  • You have an ambition that makes some people think you're crazy while inspiring others. 
  • You’re an owner, you have a natural bias for action, are always pushing for things to happen, and are objective and deadline-oriented. 
  • You’ve great communication skills, and ability to engage internal and external stakeholders. English communication is a must. 
  • An empathetic, inclusive and curious attitude.
