Associate Director Media and Communication Planning
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is hiring a Associate Director of Digital Media & Comms Planning to amplify our core marketing campaigns. We are seeking someone who can drive media planning of digital marketing campaigns across funnel levels, channels and objectives. You will be a key decision maker on not only the marketing channels and level of spend, but also the creative that resonates with customers in each channel. This leader will own developing media plans and work with multiple stakeholders across marketing and Chewy.
The ideal candidate is a passionate consumer marketing leader who has a track record of achieving (and measuring) great results through innovative marketing programs across all types of mid and upper funnel channels, specifically digital channels including Meta and YouTube. You must be adept at direct-to-consumer marketing and have successfully implemented traditional and digital media plans that fuel customer awareness and consideration. You will be known for trying new things and not working exclusively within the box. To be successful in this role, you must be, 1) a subject matter expert on media planning and execution, including inhouse/agency structure, 2) make data-driven decisions, 3) a strong communication and backbone skills to influence senior leaders, and 4) passionate about pets.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans that align with Chewy's business objectives
- Own creative content and messaging calendar across to ensure cohesive brand experience across platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business goals, target audiences, and communication needs.
- Build holistic media experiences that infuses brand and performance media; prioritize and deliver results against multiple business objectives
- Direct channel investment mix in partnership media channel leads
- Analyze syndicated and proprietary data to determine the optimal media vehicles, reach, and frequency for influencing our target audiences
- Develop and write media strategy content for briefs in partnership with campaign leads
- Review of media buys and post analyses in close coordination with our Analytics team to ensure that media plans are maximizing ROI and achieving marketing goals
- Ability to conceptualize and execute projects, with strong bias for action, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, and exceptional attention to detail
What You’ll Need:
- 7+ years of media agency or in-house agency experience
- Deep knowledge of online and traditional media and the ability to develop comprehensive media plans including identifying target audiences and developing targeted campaigns
- Experience in ecommerce
- A history of owning, developing, and communicating long-term vision and goals that drive strategies for a portfolio of products
- Comfortable presenting ideas to senior level leadership, balance feedback with backbone to deliver the best plan, and quick to apply any changes
Compensation & Benefits:
Our salary range for a Associate Director of Digital Media & Comms Planning position is $149,000.00 - $245,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
